Week 1 menu & shopping

Meal plan for this week:
We always eat out on Saturdays so that will be a challenge, we usually order pizza or chinese and neither of those are good options.

Our haul, not 100% keto but the kids were eating some alternatives to things we were going to eat because we knew they wouldn't like it (ie:asparagus is not a hit for anyone but me). This was $180, enough for 8 people to eat for a week, including lunches and breakfast.

Chicken with bacon, spinach, tomato and pepperjack cheese. We served with a salad w/ ranch. It was delicious. We made extras and put them in lunch containers so that's what I had for several days lunch, yum!!

Hamburger steak, cauliflower mash w/ mushroom & onion gravy, green beans. Huge hit! So good!

Grilled chicken and veggies. Kids felt like it was "missing" something, usually we have a pasta or rice side with this. Next time I'll try spaghetti squash with it.

Not a hit. Cheese shells were awful, too greasy and messy and they did not get crunchy. Salad dressing was just weird. Won't do this again.

Salmon w/ dill sauce, cauliflower rice and asparagus and broccoli. Very good. Oh so good!!! Kids AND husband even loved it and they're not fans of fish!! It was so good it was requested again!

Sausage, shrimp w/ veggies and cauliflower risotto. The stir fry was great. We just chopped up sausage, zucchini, bell pepper, onion, threw in some shrimp. Seasoned with Cajun seasoning, salt and pepper and it was great! The risotto, not so much. It was a frozen mix you cooked and added heavy cream and cheese to.... no one cared for it.
Instead of eating out this week hubby picked up some steaks. We had ribeye with cauliflower mash (mushroom and onion gravy), shrimp and broccoli! It was great and we had tons of left overs. Each steak was 3 servings so lunch for days, yum!!
